With all the hoopla in the past few days with the Donald Trump media manipulation endorsement of Mitt Romney and the National Enquirer story on Callista Gingrich, blocked by the noise is a conservative endorsement of Rick Santorum by conservative columnist, FOX News contributor and Author Michelle Malkin.
Rick Santorum opposed TARP.
He didn’t cave when Chicken Littles in Washington invoked a manufactured crisis in 2008. He didn’t follow the pro-bailout GOP crowd — including Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich — and he didn’t have to obfuscate or rationalize his position then or now, like Rick Perry and Herman Cain did. He also opposed the auto bailout, Freddie and Fannie bailout, and porkulus bills.
Santorum opposed individual health care mandates — clearly and forcefully — as far back as his 1994 U.S. Senate run. He has launched the most cogent, forceful fusillade against both Romney and Gingrich for their muddied, pro-individual health care mandate waters.
He voted against cap and trade in 2003, voted yes to drilling in ANWR, and unlike Romney and Gingrich, Santorum has never dabbled with eco-radicals like John Holdren, Al Gore and Nancy Pelosi. He hasn’t written any “Contracts with the Earth.”
Yesterday in Loveland Colorado Rick Santorum told supporters :
“We are not going to win this election if either of these two guys is nominated,” Santorum declared. “Let me assure you. We will not win.”
While many in the GOP believe Santorum’s chances for winning the Nomination are almost as likely as Congressman Ron Paul’s, they have to be concerned that many voters actually believe the GOP will lose in November with a Romney or Gingrich nominee. The opinions differ wildly on who you talk to but the one constant is many GOP rank and file voters believe the GOP is certain to lose in November if Romney is the nominee. Despite conservative author Ann Coulter’s efforts to back track from her Feb 12, 2011 statement at CPAC 2011 that “Romney will be our nominee and we will lose,” the GOP voter is expressing their belief that Coulter then and Santorum now are simply stating the inevitable.
Michelle Malkin makes her position clear in her Santorum endorsment and the GOP primary & caucus voter should take the time to read what Mrs. Malkin has to say about Santorum.
